The problem occurred on the Peninsula extension between the San Bruno and San Francisco Airport stations. While the average delay was 5 to 10 minutes, some commuters were delayed by as much as 45 minutes. The Peninsula extension has been plagued with software problems since October 2004 which cause switching equipment to fail. BART continues to negotiate with the the software vendor and has instituted manual work-shifts in the meantime as a workaround. While delays are sometimes unavoidable, this section of the system is especially prone to problems. Officials have no timetable for a permanent fix. Permalink // Comments (0) Reader CommentsBe the first to leave a comment!Post a Comment |
