News Archives // Archive Index // Latest NewsMinor Earthquake Delays Trains // December 16th, 2005 - 10:37 amA magnitude 3.4 earthquake hit the Bay Area this morning at 10:21 AM. It was centered in Hercules, about 18 miles from San Francisco's City Hall. All BART trains were held for about 15 minutes as a safety precaution so that BART officials could perform track inspections. There have been no aftershocks and trains are now operating normally.
