News Archives // Archive Index // Latest NewsTrains Lengthened To Accomodate Ridership Spike // December 21st, 2005BART expects ridership to SFO will spike this week as holiday travelers head to the airport. Early predictions estimate that 50,000 riders are expected to take BART this year, 4% more than in 2004 and 25% more than in 2003. Trains will be lengthened to accommodate additional riders to both San Francisco and Oakland Airports, as well as lines servicing popular shopping destinations.
